After holiday or a vacation or after a week-long wedding, the first thing comes in my mind is to go for a detox diet. There was many times when by deciding and fixing menu plan, another week goes by. Then I get smart (lol) and start my next morning with some green smoothie and then decide what will eat next couple of days. If you also thinking to go for some detoxing then don’t waste your time just start with any of these Green smoothie. Oh I forget to tell that today I am sharing 2 of my Favorite Detoxing green smoothie.
Making a detoxing smoothie or Juice is not a rocket science for sure but you need to know how to choose your ingredients. Also choose those ingredients that suits your body and tastes.
How I choose what will go into my Green Smoothie:
First of all no milk. I prefer water or coconut water for my Green smoothie. I use milk (dairy free) into my fruit only smoothie or Breakfast smoothie.
No Banana into my Detox smoothie. Banana is a heavy fruit (reason #1) so I keep it for my fruit only smoothie or meal replacing smoothie/shake. I do not like banana smell (reason #2). When I use banana into my other smoothies, I use vanilla or cinnamon or nutmeg powder to reduce the smell.

Ginger is my favorite root to use in my smoothie. Actually in any kind of smoothie I like to add some ginger root. There are a lot of benefits to eat ginger.
For my detoxing green smoothie I choose fruits that contain more water then carb. Like pineapple, orange, melons etc.
When it comes to green I like Spinach, Kale and romaine lettuce.
Now you know what and why I use for my detoxing green smoothie. These smoothies helps to flush out extra sugar and salt from your body and reduce craving for sugar treats. these Green Smoothies boost your immune system and metabolism. After holiday because of binge eating 7 all those cupcakes with icing I feel sluggish. But after couple of days of drinking these I always feel more energetic.
On both recipe I use Coconut water. If you prefer you can use plain water or milk.

Caution: Do not drink too much green smoothie. Eating too much raw greens could affect your metabolism. So drink other smoothies & juices beside green smoothie.
