     A quick yet delicious healthy breakfast idea is here… Mango Dragon Fruit Oatmeal Bowl. By now you may already know how much I love mangoes. Fresh sweet mangoes will start disappearing from market very soon. So I am trying to enjoy my mangoes as many ways as I can 😉

      To make this Mango Dragon Fruit Oatmeal Bowl you do not need a lot of time. Literally I took 2 minutes to microwave, 5 minutes to absorb liquid and 1 minute to mix & decorate. I made my mango puree while my oats were soaking in milk. so no extra time to make puree. Well how long you take to eat is totally up to you 😉 . Also you do not need a lot of ingredients to make this oat yummy. If I say more specifically, you actually need 4 items.  Mango, your choice of milk, oats & Dragon fruit. But you can use more toppings like blueberries, any nuts or nut butters, protein powder etc.

My Mangoes were so sweet so I didn’t use any extra sweeteners but some cinnamon powder for its benefits.

This Recipe is vegan recipe but you can use your choice of milk (I use Almond milk). Also it can be gluten free if you choose gluten free oats.

          On the above picture you can see 4 stage of prepping my oatmeal. first one is before microwaving my oats. after 2 minute warming up I cover it with a lid for 5 minutes. On second picture you can see how it looks like after 5 minutes. On third picture, I pour mango puree on my soaked oats and fourth picture shows how it looks like after mixing up.

Toppings & Decoration :

My Oat was already flavorful so I keep my toppings very simple. I add Mango & Dragon fruit ball & chopped walnut as topping. Are you thinking how I cut my fruits in ball shape ! very simple, I use Melon Baller. You can get mine here => Melon Baller

Little story time

          Back in Bangladesh, we never bought mango by dozen, always by Basket. Eating rice with mango and milk was my dad’s favorite. My mom or Aunt (who ever have time) used to make mango and milk mix in a large pot. That mango mix was thick and chunky. For this mix , mango need to be very ripe that you can mashed with your hand.  I can’t remember any night without that mango & milk mixed in summer.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Quick Oats
  • 1 Cup Almond milk or you choice of milk
  • 1/2 Cup Fresh Mango Puree
  • 1/8 tsp Cinnamon powder (optional)

For Toppings

  • Dragon Fruit
  • Mango
  • Nuts of your choice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Put your oats & milk in a microwave proof bowl. 

  2. Microwave it for 2 minutes.

  3. Put a lid or a plate on top of that hot bowl & let it sit for 5 minutes.

  4. In the mean time, cut a mango and make puree. 

    For Toppings take another mango & a dragon fruit. Cut into half. Use a melon baller to scoup out. you can cut in any other shape or just slice the fruits.

  5. After 5 minutes oats supposed to soak all the milk. Now add mango puree. 

  6. Mix it together. Add fruits on top and other toppings of your choice.
