Nutty Chocolate Oat smoothie.  This plant-based smoothie has good fats, slow release carbohydrate, high fiber & other significant vitamins and minerals. Also this quick & creamy smoothie recipe is refined sugar free (but very sweet), dairy free, gluten free and Banana free. Yes you heard right No Banana added. From my Instagram experience I noticed many people don’t like banana in their smoothie just like me 😉 . So here you go.

                If you don’t have time for breakfast but you like to start the day with something healthy or Maybe you love oatmeal but taking it to office/class & adding fresh fruits and then eating with spoon not always goes smoothly.  Ohh its summer time and all you want something light and icy cold for breakfast or between meals ! Well this Nutty Chocolate Oat Smoothie is the perfect solution.

 

               This is one of my most favorite smoothie flavor. Not only for breakfast but sometimes when I had heavy lunch I drink this smoothie as my dinner. Even my full family loves it. My both parents with diabetic have this smoothie almost every day in Ramadan month for Iftar and some time for Suhoor too. Because of the ingredients I use here, it gives a good boost to their blood sugar level. They feel energetic throughout the day. Please be noted, I am not a doctor or nutritionist, just telling you from practical experience. It may vary person to person when other health issues incorporated.

               Let’s talk about ingredients little bit. This Nutty Chocolate Oat Smoothie Recipe smoothie has good fats, good carbohydrates, high fiber & other significant vitamins and minerals. Oat is a slow release carbohydrate which will keep you full for a longer period of time. You can add a spoon of flex seed or chia seed to add more fiber and plant based protein.

For nuts I choose Cashew here because they have a sweeter taste and also it gives creamy texture. Also I used almond butter but if you like to cut some calories, you can avoid this.

I peeled of my apple to keep my smoothie more smooth but it is up to you to peel it or not. Just make sure when you eat any fruits with skin, wash it properly and if possible buy organic.

  Some quick benefits of dates are :

  • Dates are a great source of plant based protein and fiber.
  • Dates have no cholesterol and very low fat.
  • They contain a great amount of vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, A & C.
  • Dates are naturally very sweet and low in sodium. They work as natural energy booster.
  • Dates are rich in Iron, potassium & other minerals.
  • If you want to gain some weight, dates could be a healthier option than any sugary item. 

               I soaked cashews and dates for half an hour. But if you don’t have time you can skip this part. Or simply you can put everything in a jar and leave it in fridge for the night and in the morning just blend it, add some ice cube and ready to go.

Nutty Chocolate Oat Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Quick oats (gluten free)
  • 3-4 Big size Medjool Dates
  • 12-15 Pieces Cashew halves
  • 1 Tbsp Almond Butter
  • 1 Medium size Apple
  • 1 1/2 Cup Chocolate Almond milk or your choice of milk

Instructions

  1. Soaked cashews and dates for half an hour. But if you don’t have time you can skip this part.

  2. Peeled of the apple and cut into small pieces. 

  3. Put everything into a blender and blend until its became smooth. 

  4. Or simply you can put everything in a jar and leave it in fridge for the night and in the morning just blend it, add some ice cube and ready to go.
